37 000 LEARNERS START 2009 NCS EXAMINATIONS, 26 October 2009

Today, almost 37 000 learners sat for the first paper of the 2009 NCS Examinations. Except for a minor glitch in Mpumalanga, where a learner came to write without having properly registered, examinations went smoothly throughout the country.

“I remain deeply humbled by the commitment displayed by educators, examination personnel and the cooperation of learners to ensure that Day One of the examinations is trouble-free”, says Basic Education Minister, Mrs Angie Motshekga.

Almost 582-thousand learners will sit for the 2009 NCS Examination, which began today until December 4.
