South African School Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE) 2015

Thousands of learners from across the country are battling for the top spot in the South African School Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE) competition. The national championships are currently underway at Rhema Church, Randburg, and will end on 02 July 2015.

SASCE 2015 DAY 1: The 2015 South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE) starts on a high note

The 2015 South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE) kicked-off smoothly at Rhema Bible Church in Randburg on 30 June 2015, as learners ascended the stage to battle it out during this year’s championships. The primary schools participated in nine (9) different categories, including a new category for Boys Choirs. SASCE Opening Gala (29 June 2015): The President interacts with Provincial SASCE champions

Harmonious melodies filled the hall of the Gallagher Estate Convention Centre where the gala dinner for the participants of the South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE) was held on 29 June 2015. The President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency, Mr Jacob Zuma addressed more than 2 000 learners in the Intermediate and Senior Phase, wishing them the best of luck for the 2015 SASCE National Championships.

As usual, all learners taking part in SASCE have already won the provincial SASCE Championships, which is a bridge for all choirs in the various categories to compete at the national level. Read more... 


Farms schools from 9 provinces participate in the South Africa School Choral Eisteddfod National Championships

 

Hundreds of learners from South African farm schools gathered at Heron Bridge Retreat in Johannesburg for a 3 day camp and team building session from 26 June to 29 June 2015.

Being held under the umbrella of the 2015 SASCE National Championships, the camp was aimed at strengthening the musical talents of learners in farm schools across all nine (9) provinces, so that they too, have an opportunity to rise to the top in SASCE this year. The event was organised to assist farm school learners to prepare for the 2015 SASCE National Championships.
