SCHOOL ICT POLICY

Starting the policy writing process 5 hours

Policy writing is a long and ongoing process. It is participative and a very useful opportunity to draw key staff members and stakeholders into a process that will launch your school onto a challenging, yet rewarding, pathway with ICT and learning.

Given the time constraints of a module such as this, it is impossible to work through a complete policy development process. However, we can start the process. You may like to clarify your own thoughts first by attempting to complete an ICT policy template. Alternatively you may like to work through such a template with your policy committee.

Try to find other school ICT policies and look at how they have been written and what has been included. This will help you to develop a good idea of the extent of detail that you should include in your school's ICT policy.
