Vuwani traditional leadership collective appreciates matric intervention, 27 June 2016

Senior traditional leaders in the Vuwani area comprising of Masia, Tshimbupfe, Davhana, Mashau, Masakona and Nesengani including the Vhangani village under Sinthumule appreciate the intervention of the Minister of Basic Education, Ms. Angie Motshekga and MEC for Education in Limpopo Ishmael Kgetjepe for responding positively and within a short space of time to the request brought to them by the senior leadership collective of the Vuwani area to rescue the grade 12 learners whose lessons got affected by the unrest situation in the area. Communities, more especially parents who allowed the learners to be taken to the camps for a catch-up programme are equally congratulated for embracing the catch-up initiative.

We would also like to encourage learners who are camped at Makhado College in Makhado, Mastec in Seshego and Tivumbeni college in Tzaneen to make full use of this rare opportunity to equip themselves in order that they are ready for outstanding and final exams.

It has been and still remains the view of senior traditional leaders that whilst normal life has not returned in our areas, we need to make efforts to negotiate with our subjects on those things they are able to accede to, notwithstanding the emotive nature of the problems our communities are engulfed in.

We are quite confident that the intervention will yield positive results beyond measure.
