Department of Basic Education and SuperSports to hand a new playing field to Stredfod Primary School in Orange Farm, Gauteng, 20 October 2016

The Department of Basic Education in partnership with SuperSport Let’s Play will tomorrow, 21 October 2016, hand over a new playing filled at Stredford Primary School in Orange Farm, Johannesburg.

Other stakeholders involved are the Department of Sports and Recreation, Builders Warehouse, Active Education and Hitachi Construction Machinery who partnered with the department to reinforce and enhance physical education in schools. SuperSport has undertaken to build playing facilities in identified schools and coordinates the Physical Challenges in all provinces.

The department will be represented by DDG for Care & Support Dr Granville Whittle, who will be accompanied by Mr. Vaughn Bishop from SuperSport, National Risk Manager from Hitachi Construction Machinery Mr. Christo Marx and Mr. Mncane Mthunzi from Builders Super Store. The former footballer Jabu Mahlangu (formerly Jabu Pule) has also been invited to give a talk to learners.
