Department of Basic Education and Tiger Brands host the NSNP Best Schools and Districts Awards 2014/15, 17 March 2015

 

The Department of Basic Education in partnership with Tiger Brands Foundation will on Thursday, 19 March 2015 recognise one of the flagship programmes, the National School Nutrition Programme (NSNP) when they host the 2014/15 NSNP Best Schools and Districts Awards Ceremony in Ficksburg, Free State. These annual awards recognise schools which have achieved excellence in implementing the NSNP programme.

 

The Tiger Brands Foundation is providing the winning school with prizes to the value of R500 000 towards improving the infrastructure, equipment and utensils for the NSNP.  Since the inception of the Awards in 2010, more than 80 schools across provinces have been awarded with magnificent prizes. 

 

The MEC of Education in Free State, Mr Tate Makgoe will deliver the keynote address at the awards ceremony. A Sod-Turning ceremony which will highlight the commitment Tiger Brands Foundation to build a kitchen or dining hall for the winning school will be performed after the program.
