Basic Education Minister to hand over State-Of-The-Art ASIDI school, 25 April 2019

The Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga will tomorrow, Friday 26 April 2019 through the Accelerated Schools Infrastructure Delivery Initiative (ASIDI), hand-over the state-of-the-art Mqakama Junior Secondary School in the Eastern Cape.

Mqakama Junior Secondary School forms part of the 216 completed schools countrywide that stand as testament to the Departments continued commitment to not only delivering brand new state-of-the-art schools, but also eradicating basic safety norms backlogs in schools without water, sanitation and electricity.

ASIDI continues to play a vital role in eradicating mud schools and in so doing restoring dignity to rural education. Much more than a story of brick and mortar, the ASIDI schools are helping to restore the pride and renew the ownership communities have in their schools.
