Basic Education Minister Mrs. Angie Motshekga (MP) will address the media about the milestones, achievements and progress in various matters relating to the Basic Education sector since the dawn of the 6th Administration, at a media briefing to be held tomorrow Friday, 8 November 2019 in Pretoria. The Council of Education Ministers (CEM) is a policy decision-making body comprising Education MECs and Heads of Department from all nine Provinces.
Among others, the Minister will address the migration of Early Childhood Development (ECD) from the Department of Social Development to Basic Education, progress with regard to the ITC roll-out to schools, the Sanitation Appropriate for Education (SAFE) initiative, Infrastructure (ASIDI), School Safety, the Reading Campaign, Comprehensive Sexual Education, General Education Certificate and the Second Chance Matric Programme. Minister Motshekga will also provide an update on the ongoing 2019 National Senior Certificate examination.
