434.  . Mrs N I Tarabella Marchesi (DA) to ask the Minister of Basic Education:

   

(1)       What number of learners are currently enrolled in quintile (a) 1, (b) 2, (c) 3, (d) 4 and (e) 5 schools in each province;

(2)       what is the learner to educator ratio in quintile (a) 1, (b) 2 and (c) 3 schools in each province?

Table 1 below indicates the number of learners enrolled in quintile 1 to 5 schools per province.It shows that the majority of learners are in quintile 3 with 3 218 301 followed by quintile 1 with 3 113 123.
