Minister of Basic Education to Handover Dorrington Matsepe Primary School as ASIDI delivers 100th school, 29 April 2015

 

The Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga will, accompanied by Free State Education MEC, Mr Tate Makgoe handover Dorrington Matsepe Primary school tomorrow, Thursday 30 April 2015 in Kroonstad in the Free State as part of the Accelerated Schools Infrastructure Delivery Initiative (ASIDI).

 

As the first ASIDI school to be officially opened in the Free State, Dorrington Matsepe Primary School was built at a cost of just over R 72 Million  and consists  of 34 classrooms, a nutrition centre and computer lab.

 

ASIDI is a massive R8.2-billion public-private partnership programme and one of Government's Strategic Infrastructure Projects (SIPs) as part of the broader Presidential Infrastructure Coordinating Commission (PICC). ASIDI aims to replace some 510 schools in the country built from inappropriate materials
