The 16 Days of Activism is an annual campaign that aims to raise awareness within communities about the violence perpetrated against women and children. This year's theme, “Letsema: Men, Women, Boys and Girls working together to end Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF)”, encourages everyone to be activists and to champion the cause of women and children who succumb to violence within their communities.
As a Department we value the voices of young people as contributing members of societies and leaders of tomorrow. Their engagement on this campaign tells us that they are aware of the scourge of violence and that they are key stakeholders to changing society and eradicating violence in the future. We will continue to engage our youth on this pertinent issue and solicit further engagement.
