Minister Motshekga To Hand-Over Thembeni Senior Primary School As Part Of The Infrastructure Rollout Programme, 05 May 2014
The honourable Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga will on Tuesday 06 May 2014 handover Thembeni Senior Primary School in Libode, Mthatha, Eastern Cape.
The school, which was built as part of the Accelerated Schools Infrastructure Development Initiative (ASIDI) by the Department of Basic Education has since seen 54 schools take practical completion.
ASIDI is a national programme which aims to eradicate all mud schools and inappropriate structures. ASIDI has a National Output plan which will see the eradication of 496 mud schools, the provision of water and sanitation to 1 257 schools and electricity to 878 schools, benefiting a total of 12 450 learners the bulk of whom are in the Eastern Cape. .
