President Cyril Ramaphosa will open the third annual Basic Education Lekgotla with a key note address that will set the tone for the three day event to be hosted by Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga. The much anticipated gathering of educational minds will take place from 21 – 23 January 2019, under the theme ‘’Equipping Learners with Knowledge and Skills For a Changing World’’.
Provincial Education Departments, teacher unions, school governing body organizations, learner organisations, NGO’s, academics, as well as international guest speakers, among others will form part of robust three day sessions and commissions.
The Lekgotla brings together key education stakeholders and experts in their respective fields to address some of the challenges facing the sector and provides a platform to further plan for the year ahead. Under this years’ theme, all commissions will place emphasis on the fourth industrial revolution in ensuring our learners have the best possible chance at succeeding in a fast changing global environment.
