Deputy Minister Mhaule monitors NSC examinations in the Mpumalanga Province

The Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Dr Reginah Mhaule, visited Hazyview Comprehensive School in Mahushu, Mpumalanga Province on 26 October 2026, to monitor the administration of the 2026 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations as candidates across the country sat for the critical Mathematics Paper 2, Mathematical Literacy Paper 2 and Technical Mathematics Paper 2 examinations.

The three-hour examinations represented an important milestone in the 2026 NSC examination timetable, particularly given the significance of mathematical competencies in advancing educational outcomes, access to post-school opportunities and skills development.

Following the examinations, Dr Mhaule proceeded to Nkunzi and Siphumelele Secondary Schools to encourage and motivate learners as they continued with the remainder of their NSC examinations.

On the morning of 28 October 2026, Dr Mhaule also conducted monitoring of the NSC English Paper 1 examination at the Inqubeko Secondary School in Mkhondo to assess the progress of the examination process and ensure that learners are provided with a conducive environment to write their examinations.

“We remain committed to supporting our learners as they work towards achieving their academic goals. I wish the Class of 2026 strength, confidence and success as they navigate this important milestone. Stay focused, believe in yourselves and give every examination your very best. Your hard work and dedication will pave the way for a brighter future!” she motivated.

The Deputy Minister’s visit formed part of the Department’s ongoing national examination monitoring programme, aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the examination process, assessing conditions at examination centres and ensuring that learners are supported throughout this critical period.

As the Class of 2026 progresses through its final examinations, the Department continues to work closely with Provincial Education Departments to ensure the smooth administration of examinations and maintain an environment conducive to learner performance
