Wellness, physical fitness and fun was the order of the past weekend with the annual National Public Servants Sports and Culture Events Tournament.

The event was hosted by the Provincial Department of Free State Human Settlements on 22 October 2022, at the Central University of Technology and attracted colleagues from Local, Provincial and National Government Departments, Government Parastatals and business partners. The exciting competitive DBE team participated in aerobics, volleyball, a fun walk and football. The teams represented the DBE with excellence in a friendly sporting atmosphere.

Coordinators from the DBE, Ms Sophie Khunou, Ms Khutso Swafo and Mr Zipho Ndwandwe, who are members of the National Public Servants Sports and Cultural Events (NPSSCE) structure said the event went very well since the last tournament, which took place was in 2019 due to COVID-19 pandemic. It took a lot of hard work from all provinces, departments and participants to put together a successful tournament and plans are already in place for the planning of the 2023 tournament.

The tournament has a huge impact on Public Service delivery and community awareness on wellness in the Public Environment as officials have an opportunity to interact with one another and share good practice in Public Service and Administration.
