One of the key focus areas of the DBE High School channel is to support Grade 12 learners in preparation for their final exams. The Exam Revision programme is sponsored by MTN SA Foundation and will include the following campaigns:
· Winter School
· Spring School
· Exam School
These campaigns will include a combination of pre-recorded and live broadcasts in which experienced teachers will focus on areas that have been identified as weaknesses from the November 2014 examinations. Teachers will discuss strategies and skills required to answer exam questions. Learners will be able to interact with the teachers in studio by completing assessments using mobile devices and by asking questions on social media platforms. These programmes will be broadcast on DStv 319, Openview HD 201 and Star Sat 309.
For Grade 12 learners, there will be daily broadcasts from 29 June till 3 July from 10 am till 7pm. Below is the timetable:

The live lessons will be broadcast from 11:00 am till 12:30pm, 2:30pm – 4:00pm (Mon – Fri) and from 4:00pm – 5:00pm (Mon – Thurs). The Grade 12 programme will be repeated in the evening from 9:00pm till 5:00am as well as on Saturdays and Sundays from 4 July till 19 July

Videos of the pre-recorded lessons can be watched online. The live broadcasts will be uploaded to the website within a few days.

The live lessons will be broadcast from 11:00 am till 12:30pm, 2:30pm – 4:00pm (Mon – Fri) and from 4:00pm – 5:00pm (Mon – Thurs). The Grade 12 programme will be repeated in the evening and over the weekend of 10th & 11th October. The live lessons will focus on previous exam paper questions including a review of questions adapted from 2015 Prelim papers.
Exam School offers a combination of live and pre-recorded lessons to assist Grade 12 learners review their prelim exams and prepare for the finals. This programme runs from 12 October till the end of November. Before the Grade 12 Examinations begin, the focus of live broadcasts will be on the 2015 questions adapted from the Prelim Examinations. The objective is to ensure that learners learn from the Prelims and don’t make the same mistakes in the final examinations.
On the day before an exam paper is written, there will be a revision programme made up of pre-recorded lessons from 10 am till 3:30pm. From 3:30pm till 5pm there will be a live broadcast in which the teacher presenters will answer learners’ questions and do a final revision of crucial areas. This live broadcast will be repeated in the evening.
Once the Grade 12 examinations begin, there will be a programme of revision lessons for Grade 10 and 11 learners that will broadcast from 5pm till 7pm Monday to Thursday. There will also be Mathematics revision lessons for Grade 8 and 9 learners that will be broadcast between 3pm to 5pm on days that there are no Grade 12 live broadcasts.
