National Best Teacher Award

The National Teaching Awards (NTAs) is one of the ways in which the DBE acknowledges extraordinary efforts made by excellent teachers, often in very difficult conditions. This year, the DBE-E³ will again be sponsoring the DBE-E³ National Best Teacher Award, as a way to celebrate the importance of South Africa’s teachers and educators, recognising those who are showing true excellence in the profession.

The 2022 DBE-E³ National Best Teacher Award winner will receive a R100,000 cash prize. This year’s award is open to teachers who embody the skills which focus on transforming the lives of learners and the community. Those skills will include the introduction of digital learning tools, ensuring that all children have access to quality education and initiated environmental and other projects.

As the world evolves and becomes technologically savvy, the selection process has also evolved. Teachers who qualify will have to WhatsApp “NTA22” to 060 060 33 33 and follow user-friendly prompts, and provide the required information. Teachers who qualify are encouraged to enter the DBE-E³ National Best Teacher Award category sponsored by DBE-E³ to stand the chance to win this amazing prize and award.
